Figurative Painting - Oil
Oil painting has a vitality compatible with the complex richness of human perception. The oil brush strokes are rough enough to mix and add the paint in unexpected ways, expressing the the colors and textures of the subject, producing loose, interwoven borders. Unlike a photographic copy of the object, the oil loose images reflect the wide spectrum of possible mental images of the subject, as well as suggesting unexpected, involuntary interpretations. Painting is a learning process, the subjects being constantly rediscovered and the goals perpetually reset. |
