Tel-Aviv Main Boulevards
Competition (First Prize - with H. Schwartz and A. Sivan) Present day urban structure of Tel-Aviv is diffuse and unclear. The competition motto was to restructure its three existing Boulevards in order to better define the city. These three main axes were then enhanced as a main spine, ending at one side at the Neve Tzedek neighborhood and at the sea on the other extremity. Along the boulevards, we allowed buildings to regroup as larger structures, more suitable for a main boulevard. The space between buildings, and the 'pilotis' floor that remains mainly wasted until today, were combined into new commercial spaces that could enhance the street experience. |
