World Trade Center Memorial Competition, NYC
Following the shocking September 11 events, an international competition was launched to create a memorial for the victims of the attack. We endeavored to communicate the scale of the event, as well as to recall the despair that embraced the city in those days, and yet create an environment that could enable contemplation. A column for each victim is placed along the area, leaving a void in the former towers footprint. Walking through the dense and repetitive columns grid create a distressing feeling, eased and contrasted by the placidity and sadness of the two large empty spaces. Collaborator : M. Levi |
