Masterplan for the Urban Development of the City
of Port-Louis, Mauritius - International Ideas Competition
organized by the UIA - Union Internationale des Architectes in 2004
Port-Louis, the Capital City of Mauritius, in addition of its administrative functions, operates as an active port of Mauritius and as its major commercial centre. The city has a rich architectural heritage and it is a major pole of development.
The competition called for re-thinking the urban structure of the city, its challenges and opportunities.
Our proposal included a ring road, a grande croisée and sub-centers to be accessed accessed by the outer ring road, easing the traffic burden on the city center.
